Spooky Beaver Crew Update – 06-14-2020

Spooky Beavers:  As you’ve likely heard, Prince William Forest Park opened
up to vehicular traffic last Wednesday.  As a  member of the public, you’re
welcome to enjoy the hiking paths following the recommendations on the park
website at https://www.nps.gov/prwi/index.htm.

However, I’ve yet to meet with the Superintendent to discuss the Spooky
Beaver Crew’s return to trail maintenance duties.  I hope to do that this
coming Tuesday.

Until then,  as a member of the public, you may walk your assigned trail
section and informally assess its  condition to plan your trail maintenance
activities once cleared by the park and PATC.    DO NOT file a worktrip
report.  You are NOT to do any trail maintenance work.  This is to ensure
that we will be following public health guidelines  set by the CDC ,
National Park Service, Prince William Forest Park, state and local
governments,  and PATC  to keep volunteers , the park staff, and visitors
safe during the pandemic.

Will provide an update after my meeting with the Superintendent and her
staff.

Thanks.  Stay safe, and be well.

Mark Ellis
PATC District Manager
